Brief Bio
Ludger van Elst is a researcher, consultant, and project manager for more than 20 years at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI GmbH) in the Smart Data and Knowledge Services group. He studied computer science, economics, and mathematics at the University of Kaiserslautern from where he also received his Diploma degree. His scientific background is in the fields of semantic technologies, especially formal knowledge representation, ontologies, knowledge acquisition, and knowledge management. He has authored, co-authored, and edited more than 60 scientific publications on these topics. His current interests and projects focus on semantic sensor data representation and analysis in Industrie 4.0 applications as well as in deep learning for applications in the automotive industry. His guiding vision is to develop technologies that better integrate data-driven and model-based approaches to create assistance systems that continuously learn and improve.
Tulay Caglayan Ozlu

Brief Bio
Currently works at EKODENGE Corporation as senior expert and business development director, she holds B.Sc, M.Sc. in Membrane Technologies and Ph.D. in Solar Energy Storage degrees from Hacettepe University, Engineering Faculty, Department of Chemistry in Ankara, Turkey. She also has EU Expert and International Relations Expert diplomas from Ankara University European Union Research and Application Center and B.A. degree in Business Administration from Anadolu University, Turkey. Author and coauthor of over 20 conference papers and publications, Dr. Tulay Caglayan Ozlu has experience in the areas of designing and leading R&D&I processes and organizations; management of environmental, waste, energy and digitalization projects; pilot and industrial scale applications of circular economy, zero waste approach, industrial symbiosis in chemical and mineral sectors. She worked in several public and private organizations in various roles: as researcher and manager of information services department at the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK); as general coordinator at Scientific and Technical Research Foundation (BITAV) and Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBA); adviser to the Minister at the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of Republic of Turkey; adviser to Turkish Parliament; director of R&D Institute of Turkish Cement Manufacturers Association. Additionally, between 2015-2017 she lectured on “Global New Energy Order and Energy Geopolitics” at Baskent University. Between 2016 and 2018, she served in the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology as a member of the Committee for Assessment of R&D Centers.

Brief Bio
Kurosh Madani is graduated in fundamental physics in June 1985 from PARIS 7 – Jussieu University. He received his MSc. in Microelectronics and chip architecture from University PARIS 11 (PARIS-SUD), Orsay, France, in September 1986. Received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from University PARIS 11 (PARIS-SUD), Orsay, France, in February 1990. In 1995, he received the DHDR Doctor Hab. degree (senior research doctorate degree) from University PARIS 12 – Val de Marne. He works as Chair Professor in Electrical Engineering of Senart-FB Institute of Technology of University PARIS-EST Creteil (UPEC), France. From 1992 to 2000 he has been creator and head of DRN (Neural Networks Division) research group. From 2001 to 2004 he has been head of Intelligence in Instrumentation and Systems Laboratory (I2S / JE 2353) of UPEC. Co-creator of Images, Signals and Intelligent Systems Laboratory (LISSI / EA 3956) of UPEC in 2005, head of Intelligent Machines & Systems” research team of LISSI, he is also Vice-director of this laboratory. He has worked on both digital and analog implementation of massively parallel processors arrays for image processing, electro-optical random number generation, and both analog and digital Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) implementation. His current research interests include: - Complex structures and behaviors modeling, - self-organizing, modular and hybrid neural based information processing systems and their real-world and industrial applications, - humanoid and collective robotics - intelligent fault detection and diagnosis systems.

SCOPE

In the context of the Industry of the Future, the concepts of Industry 4.0 and Intelligent Manufacturing occupy an ever increasing rank of endeavors involving as well academic as industrial communities. Such challenging production and manufacturing units involve connected, knowledge based and smart systems making emerge new needs, novel slants of view and innovative concepts relating as well the production structures as production devices. In fact, they have not only be flexible regarding market and economic requirements but also have to sustain environmental qualifications.
The main objective of ETCIIM is to provide a privileged meeting-space for informing, presenting and exchanging on concrete trends and developments in Industry 4.0 and Intelligent Manufacturing as well as related fields.
