Short Bio
Hervé Panetto is a Prof. of Enterprise Information Systems at University of Lorraine. He teaches Information Systems modelling and development at TELECOM Nancy and conducts research at CRAN (Research Centre for Automatic Control), Joint Research Unit with CNRS where he is managing a research project on the use of neuro-symbolic AI for formalising models related to the interoperability of cyber-physical-social systems.
He received his PhD in production engineering in 1991. He is working Systems interoperability, with applications in human-systems collaboration. He studying Hybrid Artificial Intelligence te
chniques to the cognitive interoperability of Cyber-Physical Systems and Human-centric systems, including cognitive systems and cognitive digital twins. He was visiting Professor in 2013-2015 in the frame of a Science Without Borders PVE project with PUC Parana, Brazil and visiting Professor in 2016 at the UTFPR, Curitiba, Brazil. He is editor or guest editor of books and special issues of international journals. He is author or co-author of more than 300 papers in the field of Automation Engineering, Enterprise Modelling and applied AI for Industry 5.0.
He received the IFAC France Award 2013, the INCOSE 2015 Outstanding Service Award and the IFAC 2017 Outstanding Service Award. In 2025, he received the NAAI Distinguished Artificial Intelligence Award.

Kurosh Madani is graduated in fundamental physics in June 1985 from PARIS 7 – Jussieu University. He received his MSc. in Microelectronics and chip architecture from University PARIS 11 (PARIS-SUD), Orsay, France, in September 1986. Received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from University PARIS 11 (PARIS-SUD), Orsay, France, in February 1990. In 1995, he received the DHDR Doctor Hab. degree (senior research doctorate degree) from University PARIS 12 – Val de Marne. He works as Chair Professor in Electrical Engineering of Senart-FB Institute of Technology of University PARIS-EST Creteil (
UPEC), France. Co-creator of Images, Signals and Intelligent Systems Laboratory (LISSI / EA 3956) of UPEC in 2005, head of Intelligent Machines & Systems” research team of LISSI, he is also Vice-director of this laboratory. He has worked on both digital and analog implementation of massively parallel processors arrays for image processing, electro-optical random number generation, and both analog and digital Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) implementation. His current research interests include: - Complex structures and behaviors modeling, - self-organizing, modular and hybrid neural based information processing systems and their real-world and industrial applications, - humanoid and collective robotics - intelligent fault detection and diagnosis systems.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Armando Walter Colombo (Fellow IEEE) joined the Department of Electrotechnical and Industrial Informatics at the University of Applied Sciences Emden-Leer, Germany, became Full Professor in August 2010 and Director of the Institute for Industrial Informatics, Automation and Robotics (I2AR) in 2012. He worked from 2001 until 2018 as Manager for Collaborative Innovation Projects and also as Edison Level 2 Group Senior Expert at Schneider Electric, Industrial Business Unit. His research interests are in the fields of industrial cyber-physical systems, industrial digitalization and system-of-systems en
gineering, Internet-of-Services, Industry 4.0-compliant solutions. Prof. Colombo has over 30 industrial patents and more than 300 per-review publications (see https://scholar.google.fi/citations?user=FgFDTMEAAAAJ&hl=en). He has extensive experience in managing multi-cultural research teams in multi-regional projects and has participated in leading positions in many international research and innovation projects. With his contributions, he has performed scientific and technical seminal contributions that are nowadays being used as one of the bases of what is recognized as “The 4th Industrial Revolution”: networked collaborative smart cyber-physical systems that are penetrating the daily life, producing visible societal changes and impacting all levels of the society. He is currently Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Open Access Journal of the IES (OJIES), Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Systems Council, senior member of the IEEE IES Administrative Committee (AdCom), and member of the IEEE Fellow Committee (IES, TEMS, Systems Council). Prof. Colombo is working as expert of the EU REA, CHIPS JU and EUREKA Programs. He is listed in Who’s Who in the World /Engineering 99-00/01 and in Outstanding People of the XX Century (Bibliographic Centre Cambridge, UK).
